The Challenge

Callida was engaged as one of two outsourced providers of internal audit services in 2017. The challenge was to ensure that the risks in the business processes and the strengths in the control environment were in alignment with the corporate strategy.

The Solution

To create successful work processes and working relationships, we needed to make sure there was an onsite presence and constant information sharing between parties. Our role in achieving this included:

  • Working closely with the in-house internal audit team so that the function is performed seamlessly.
  • Completion of internal audit engagements assigned to us by the Chief Auditor, including full engagements and those for which we provide specialist advice.
  • Internal audit delivery of a variety of performance, compliance, IT and financial audits as per the agreed annual internal audit program.

The Outcome

Since the commencement of our role as internal auditors, we have completed additional management requested engagements on top of our allocated audits. This shows that our relationship with the agency is strong and we are producing value-add services. We have performed engagements on the following topics: cultural auditing, Enterprise Architecture, IT Strategy, recruitment and selection, level 1 and 2 assurance effectiveness, and a number of engagements relating to project management.
